Trainee negotiator, help/advice?

I'm 18 and want to be an estate agent. After doing some research, from what i'm guessing, you have to become a trainee negotiator first. However, the pay is hardly anything (i've been searching for jobs) and i'm pretty sure to even consider applying for one, i'd have to be able to get another job aswell. So how often do you work as a trainee negotiator? And does it actually lead you on to being an estate agent? Because i don't want to be in one of those jobs where you have to work as a trainee negotiator for about ten years before i can be a estate agent. How exactly do you become an estage agent from being a trainee negotiator, through promotion or what? Thankyou
