Saline drip blood running up?

It's completely normal. It does look scary but in all reality it's not much blood escaping. I have had 3 children and I have had an iv 3 different times and each time I have had the blood in the line as well. I think it happens more when the iv site is in an area that is more mobile. Ex. Hand, wrist, inner elbow ect. I think the movement causes a time drop of blood to be forced up the line. She will be fine it will not harm her and u did the right thing by asking!! Good luck
