How can I improve my english pronunciation ( am a teacher trainee doing CELTA)?

I teach in a U.S. college, and as an ESL faculty my pronunciation is not that good. My students actually see this as a plus. I was told after age sixteen you can change your accent. I think it depends a lot on the person. My brother lost his Asian accent.
